Lauren Powell, LCSW
I am a licensed social worker with experience working with many different populations and age groups. I received my Bachelors in Sociology with a minor in music, my first Masters in Human Relations with an emphasis in counseling, and my second Masters in Social Work.
I have worked in various settings including nonprofit leadership, foster care and adoption, and homelessness. I usually use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Expressive Therapies, or any type of Humanistic approaches.
I live by the motto "Be the change you wish to see." I became a social worker to help those that might feel they don't have any or enough support to deal with life's challenges. I believe we are on this earth to help one another.
I have training in trauma focused approaches and specialize in LGBTQIA+, chronic illness, and anxiety.
Currently taking on new therapy clients with Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, CCA, Tufts, Beacon, MassHealth and Medicare.
